It takes about 20–30 minutes depending on your company structure. Please set aside uninterrupted time to complete it in one sitting — progress cannot be saved between sessions.

Note: A minimum of $50,000 in annual currency conversions is required to open an account. Please contact us first if you are unsure whether your volume qualifies.

This application is straightforward. Each section is short, clearly labelled, and focused. By the end, we will have everything we need to set up your account and get you started.

Before you start, please have these ready:

  • Business registration or incorporation documents
  • Photo ID for signing authorities (driver's licence or equivalent)
  • Full names and residential addresses of all 25%+ shareholders with ownership percentages
  • Proof of ownership (business registration, Schedule 50, or letter from accountant/lawyer)
  • Full names and residential addresses of all directors
  • Proof of current directors (if incorporated)

Your application and all information you provide is transmitted using SSL encryption - the same standard used by banks and financial institutions. Your data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and processed by our Fortune 500 regulated settlement partner under their compliance and data protection standards. We do not sell or share your information with any third parties.

Let's start with the basics. This information helps us set up your account correctly and meet our regulatory requirements.

The name your business trades under day-to-day. Operating name is required.
Country of incorporation is required.
Jurisdiction is required.
Select where your business is registered.
Select the option that matches your company's legal structure. Business type is required.
This determines whether we need ownership information later in the application.
Your federal or provincial business number as registered with the government. Business registration number is required.
Years in business is required.
A website URL or explanation is required.
For example: "We import agricultural equipment from US suppliers and sell to Canadian distributors and the general public. We generate business through our relationships, trade shows, and online sales." Or: "We receive foreign currency from providing legal services to international customers wanting to do business in Canada." A business description is required.
A third party means someone other than your business. Most businesses select No.
Business Sectors

A Politically Exposed Person (PEP) is someone who currently holds, or has previously held, a senior public position — such as a head of government, senior politician, senior military officer, or senior executive of a state-owned company — in Canada or abroad. A Head of International Organization (HIO) is the head of an organization established by governments, such as the United Nations or World Bank. Most business owners select No.

We need your business address and contact details to set up your account and stay in touch. Please use your physical business address — PO boxes are not accepted.

How Will You Use Your Account?

This helps us understand your currency activity and set up your account correctly. There are no right or wrong answers — just describe your business as it actually operates.

Who Will Manage This Account?

We need details about the people who will sign the account agreement and anyone who will have access to the CastleFX platform. You will need full names, residential addresses, and photo ID for signing authorities. Additional users only require basic contact details.

This controls how transactions are authorized on your account. Most businesses select option 1 or 2. If you are unsure, select 1 — this can be changed after your account is opened.

Who Owns and Directs Your Business?

We are required by law to collect information about the people who own and direct your business. This is a standard regulatory requirement for all financial accounts — it helps prevent fraud and financial crime. The information you provide here is handled securely and confidentially.

Section A — Beneficial Owners

A beneficial owner is any individual who directly or indirectly owns or controls 25% or more of your business. You must list at least one natural person. If no single individual owns 25% or more, list the person with the largest ownership percentage.

Beneficial owners must be natural persons — not companies or trusts. If your business is owned by another company or trust, you must trace ownership through to the individual people who ultimately own or control it. If you need help with this section please contact our team.
Section B — Directors / Appointed Officers

Please list all directors or appointed officers of your business. Directors are the individuals formally responsible for overseeing the management of your company.
